CSN is calling for helplines to be made free, especially for the elderly who are in a more vulnerable position.
These helplines are specially aimed at people over 60 who are left particularly vulnerable due to the social distancing measures put in place. In general, older phone users still top up their phones manually, which is an obstacle for those who are facing lockdown.
Currently, these are paid phone lines. As CSN believes that these vital services should be offered by freephone, not against payment, we are calling on the Government to implement these helplines as freephones for those people over 60s who most need it.
