We the undersigned civil society activists are very much concerned with Minister Chris Cardona’s garnishee order against journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. This sets a dangerous precedent against journalists and civil society, irrespective of their beliefs.
We hereby call Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to immediately remove Maltese legislation such as garnishee orders and criminal libel, which are reminiscent of times gone by.
